Big news today, Tom has posted the cover on his livejournal page of The Ragged Man and I have to say, it is beautiful. Keeping inline with the cover of the other three books it pictures a scene of a man...the ragged man...with a picturesque background of clouds (perhaps a storm?) and a lake. What do you all think of it? It has got me even more excited for the novel now. I think this cover has to be my favourite so far. Not giving too much away, yet setting the scene for an exciting story to unfold.

Fantasy Reading Challenge 2010

Today, I came across an article at A Haunt of Ancient Peace in which a competition to read fantasy books was explained. With a New Year just around the corner wouldn't it be great to read just one more book than last year? That's what this competition aims to do, read as many fantasy books as possible, of course the number one on my list is The Ragged Man. Although I am hoping on getting Peter Brett's Painted Man for Christmas so I will also add this to my list. Below is a list of the rules to the competition. This may be a few days late, but nevertheless this is exciting news. Tom Lloyd has posted his LiveJournal the finalised blurb for The Ragged Man. What do you all make of it?

Some great news today, (I say that like most news is bad news [this is not true]) there has been a first draft of the Raggen Man front cover. This is for the US edition and has stuck with the theme of epic fantasy. Theres the typical dragon, small man combination, with a hint of fire. So typical fantasy front cover then?

Todd Lockwood has created the covers for the first three books, and the cover for the fourth looks just as awesome. Here it is in all its glory:

What do you think? A return for Grenedel perhaps? Or is this Isak in another form? So many questions about the story could be raised from the cover. Although, previous covers did never tell the whole story.

It appears as though the 'dragon' is stood outside a gateway. Where does this lead? Is the dragon guarding it or has it emerged from the gateway? What is everyones opinions on the cover?

Whilst were on the topic of The Ragged Man, I thought I would insert the synopsis for it here. ***SPOILER ALERT!***

Hey guys,

Sorry I've been absent for so long...wow how time flies, 3 months since I last posted! The reason for this has been university has taken over my life at the moment. I'm in final year and the work load is horrendous, so blog posting has had to be put back for a while.

I have managed to take time out to post right now, and I will try and get the characters up, even though it may be slowly...very slowly. But it will get done eventually. Hopefully by the time the fourth book is out.

I admire Tom for the work he does, writing a book and working at the same time requires a lot of patience and the amount of pressure he must be under is incredible! So, Tom, keep up the good work, we are all looking forward to the next book, whenever this may be. The ending to The Grave Thief was good, but I believe their is a lot more to come from the next installment. I am thinking right now that it will be more of a Grave Thief Part II than a completely new book. Anybody else thinking along these lines?

Anyway, back to uni work, christmas is just around the corner people.

I think at a later date, once all the information has been collected I will re-arrange the characters into smaller groups, such as main characters, supporting characters and so on. Do you think this would be a good idea? Because that list is huge, and this is only from the first book!

I will try to get the information for characters as fast as posible, but as you have probably noticed, the list is long and will take a fair amount of time. But it will get done eventually!
